Third-party testing

Don't guess. We had it tested.

The coil units used in Essential™, Signature™ and Endurance went through a 100,000-cycle fatigue test at a third-party ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory, under QB/T 1952.2-2023.

It's a test of the coil unit, not of the finished mattress. It isn't a weight-capacity test, and it doesn't predict how many years a mattress will last. You also have 100 nights to try the mattress at home.

More weight goes through the middle of the bed every night. Endurance is built around that load.

THE LAST MATTRESS

The last one kept the shape of you.

A dip on your side. A slow roll toward the middle. A partner who ends up closer than either of you meant.

WHY IT HAPPENS

Why does a mattress sink faster under more weight?

A mattress can lose support before it looks broken: repeated compression can create material fatigue in high-load areas, often including the load-bearing center third, so support can fade before visible sag appears. More body weight, or a second sleeper, adds to that load every night.

WHY ENDURANCE

The price difference is a build difference.

Here's what we changed for more weight, and what we kept.

WHAT CHANGES, WHAT STAYS

Same 2.3 mm center gauge. More structure around it.

WHAT CHANGES IN ENDURANCE

Two numbers change.

For Manchot, lumbar support starts with the center-third structure. The 2.3 mm StasisLayer™ center stays the same. Two things around it step up.

FEEL VS SUPPORT

Does Endurance feel firmer?

Yes, a little. Endurance sits around 7 to 7.5 on a 10-point scale. Essential sits at 6.5 and Signature at 6. Firmness describes the resistance you feel as a mattress compresses; support describes how the full structure manages your weight and controls settling under load. They are related but not the same: a firm-feeling mattress can still develop uneven support loss, while a softer-feeling mattress can remain stable underneath. If lumbar support matters to you, look past the firmness label and ask what the structure through the center third is actually doing.

A QUICK CHECK

Is Endurance right for you?

A HEAVIER BODY
More weight through the hips and shoulders asks more of the whole support core, not only the center. In our experience, Endurance suits sleepers from about 180 to 300 lb best.

TWO OF YOU, EVERY NIGHT
Two sleepers put more combined load on the mattress every night, even if neither of you is especially heavy.

A BED THAT WORKS HARD
Kids climbing in, a dog at the foot, long nights. Load adds up in ways a spec sheet doesn't show.

If none of these sound like your bed, or you'd rather have a softer feel, Essential or Signature will likely suit you, for less.

ENDURANCE FAQ

Questions, Answered.

Is Endurance a mattress for heavier people?

Yes. Manchot Endurance is a 14-inch hybrid mattress built for heavier sleepers and for couples who put more combined weight on the bed. It uses higher-density foam and a heavier outer-zone wire gauge than Essential and Signature.

Is there a weight limit?

We don't publish one. In our experience, Endurance suits sleepers from about 180 to 300 lb best, per person. That range comes from fitting people to mattresses, not from a load test, so we don't list a maximum. If you're under it, Essential or Signature will probably feel better, since Endurance is firmer. If you're over it, contact us before ordering and we'll talk it through. More on reading weight figures: Do mattresses have a weight limit?

Does my weight affect the warranty?

No. The warranty terms don't set a body-weight limit. Warranty covers sagging greater than ¾" and material defects under normal use. Full warranty terms available at checkout. More detail: Does body weight affect a mattress warranty?

What kind of bed frame does Endurance need?

A platform bed with a solid surface, an adjustable base, a slatted frame with slats no more than 3 inches apart, a box spring in good structural condition, or a flat, solid floor. Wider slat gaps or a sagging or unstable frame can affect warranty coverage. At 14 inches, it also needs fitted sheets with a deep enough pocket.

How is the edge built?

The perimeter uses three rows of 2.3 mm coils. There is no separate perimeter edge wire.

Why does Endurance cost more than Essential and Signature?

It uses a higher-density foam specification and a heavier outer-zone wire gauge than Essential and Signature, while keeping the center-zone gauge at 2.3 mm.

Do both of us need to be heavier sleepers?

No. Two sleepers put more combined load on the mattress than one sleeper does. If that is what you're thinking about, Endurance is built for it. If not, Essential or Signature will likely suit you. Endurance also feels firmer, around 7 to 7.5 out of 10, and a lighter partner will notice that more.

Should I choose Endurance over Essential or Signature?

Choose Endurance if your bed carries more weight than usual, from a heavier body, two sleepers, or both. If it doesn't, Essential or Signature will likely suit you as well, for less. Endurance also feels one step firmer. If you'd rather have a softer surface, start with Essential or Signature.

How does the 100-night trial work?

Sleep on it for at least 30 nights, then decide any time within 100 nights. If it isn't right, one email starts the return: we arrange pickup from your home and refund what you paid. Original packaging isn't required.

How long will Endurance hold up?

Long-term durability is not predicted by coil count, thickness, price, or warranty alone; a more useful question is how the complete build handles repeated load, including whether the load-bearing middle is deliberately reinforced and verified as part of the whole system. Endurance's coil unit went through a 100,000-cycle fatigue test alongside the coil units of Essential™ and Signature™, at a third-party ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory under QB/T 1952.2-2023. It's a test of the coil unit, not of the finished mattress. It isn't a weight-capacity test, and it doesn't predict how many years a mattress will last. We don't publish a lifespan in years.

How the test works →

What sizes does Endurance come in?

Queen, King and California King, in a 14-inch profile only.

What does “lumbar support” mean on Endurance?

For Manchot, lumbar support means reinforced structural support through the center third of the mattress. In Endurance, the center third uses 2.3 mm tempered-steel pocket coils, the same center gauge as Essential™ and Signature™, and the outer zones use a heavier 2.1 mm wire gauge, so the center wire is about 10% thicker.

We use “lumbar support” to describe the design and structure of the mattress, not a medical outcome.
