Materials
Where are Manchot products made?
Manchot products are assembled using globally sourced materials under controlled manufacturing standards, at facilities selected for their ability to produce zone-specific reinforced coil systems — a process that requires a different production line than uniform-construction mattresses.
Does the mattress sleep hot?
Hybrid construction allows more airflow than solid foam. The pocketed coil core lets air circulate through the mattress, and the breathable performance padding above it helps regulate temperature, reducing heat buildup during sleep.
What kind of steel is used in the coils?
Heavier-gauge tempered steel in the reinforced center third, and standard tempered steel in the surrounding zones. Tempering improves fatigue resistance — the steel returns to its original shape after compression for longer, which is what determines how long support actually lasts.
Are the foams CertiPUR-US certified?
Yes. All foams in Manchot mattresses and the Cradle™ pillow are CertiPUR-US certified, meaning they are made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, formaldehyde, and other regulated substances. Certification is independently verified.
What is inside a Manchot mattress?
Layered comfort foam on top, breathable performance padding beneath it, and a reinforced pocketed coil support core at the base. The center third of the coil system uses heavier-gauge tempered steel — the StasisLayer™ System reinforcement — where the load concentrates.
Warranty
How do I file a warranty claim?
Contact our support team with your order number and a few photos showing the issue. Most claims are reviewed within 5 business days. If approved, the affected item is repaired or replaced at no cost.
What does the pillow warranty cover?
Structural collapse of the main support chamber, seam failure, and cover defects under normal use. Surface softening from years of normal use is not considered a structural defect.
What does the mattress warranty cover?
Visible body impressions deeper than 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) when the surface is unloaded, structural failure of the coil unit, and seam or material defects under normal use. It does not cover gradual comfort preference changes or damage from improper support foundations.
How long is the warranty?
Mattresses carry a 10-year limited warranty. The Cradle™ Adjustable Pillow carries a 3-year limited warranty. Both cover manufacturing and structural defects under normal use.
Shipping & Trial
What happens to returned products?
Used or opened mattresses are donated to local charities or recycled — never resold as new. In rare cases, mattresses returned with original packaging and inner seal fully intact may be inspected and, if confirmed unused, returned to inventory.
Why should I wait before judging a new mattress?
Two reasons. If your old mattress sagged, your body adapted to that shape, and returning to neutral alignment can feel unfamiliar for the first couple of weeks. New materials also settle over the first weeks, changing how the surface feels. Most people adjust within 21 nights.
What is the 100-night trial?
You have 100 nights to decide whether the product is right for you. We recommend at least 30 nights before judging — your body needs time to adjust to a different support structure, and new materials need time to settle. If you decide to return within the window, we arrange free return pickup and issue a full refund.
How long does delivery take?
Pillows typically ship within 1–2 business days and arrive in 3–6 business days. Mattresses ship within 2–4 business days and arrive in 5–10 business days, depending on region. Tracking is provided once the order is processed.
How is the mattress shipped?
The mattress is compressed, rolled, and shipped in a box for easier delivery and setup. Once unboxed, it expands to full shape. Allow it time to fully expand before judging the feel.
Is shipping free?
Yes. Free shipping to the contiguous United States. Alaska, Hawaii, and international shipping are not currently available.
Pillow
Is the Cradle™ cover washable?
Yes. The outer cover unzips and is machine washable. Wash cold and tumble dry low.
Does the Cradle™ pillow sleep hot?
The quilted surface and breathable cover allow airflow through the pillow, which reduces heat buildup compared with solid foam pillows that trap it. The cover is also removable for washing.
Who is the Cradle™ pillow designed for?
Side, back, and combination sleepers. The two-height system lets you match loft to your sleeping position — higher for side sleeping, lower for back and stomach. Combination sleepers can set it to the height that suits their dominant position.
Do I need to fluff the Cradle™ pillow?
No. Fluffing is how loose-fill pillows redistribute fill that has shifted during sleep. Because Cradle™ uses a solid support chamber instead of loose fill, the support stays centered without daily reshaping.
Will the Cradle™ pillow flatten over time?
The main chamber is solid memory foam, not shredded fill, so it returns to its set shape rather than compressing into a flat mat. Some surface softening is normal over years of use, but the structural collapse that flattens shredded-fill pillows is not how Cradle™ wears.
Is the Cradle™ pillow height adjustable?
Yes. The pillow has two heights. Use it with the booster layer inside for the taller setting, better for side sleepers and larger frames. Remove the booster for the lower setting, better for back and stomach sleepers. Because the support chamber stays intact, height changes without altering the support structure.
What makes the Cradle™ pillow different from shredded-fill pillows?
Most adjustable pillows use shredded foam fill that shifts under head pressure, moving support away from the center over time. The Cradle™ Adjustable Pillow uses a solid support chamber that holds its position, paired with a removable booster for height. Set once, it stays set — no daily fluffing to restore the support zone.
Mattress
Does a higher coil count mean better support?
No. Coil count tells you how many coils are in the unit. It says nothing about wire gauge, steel temper, or whether the center is reinforced — which are the properties that actually determine support and longevity.
Is firmness the same as support?
No. Firmness is how the surface feels in the first moment. Support is whether the mattress holds your spine in alignment over the night. A mattress can feel firm and still lose support if the core is weak. StasisLayer™ System is built around support specifically.
Is the Manchot mattress good for back sleepers, side sleepers, or both?
Both. The reinforced center supports the hip and torso zone for back sleepers, while the comfort layer adjusts to shoulder and hip pressure for side sleepers. Stomach sleepers generally find the medium-firm response works as well. We recommend reading the trial section before deciding.
What is the difference between Essential and Signature?
Both use the same StasisLayer™ System reinforced center core. The Signature adds higher-density comfort layers, refined edge support, and a more breathable cover construction. Essential is the entry into the StasisLayer™ structural approach; Signature is the same structural philosophy with more material refinement on top.
What is StasisLayer™ System?
StasisLayer™ System is Manchot's structural approach to the center of the mattress. It reinforces the center third — the zone that carries 60–70% of body weight — with heavier-gauge tempered steel, paired with transition foam tuned to the coil response. The result is support engineered for where the load actually concentrates, rather than built uniformly edge to edge. It is used only in Manchot mattresses.
Why does the center of a mattress sag first?
The center third carries roughly half of your body weight every night. Most mattresses are built the same way edge to edge, so the most heavily loaded zone has no more reinforcement than the corners. The coils there reach metal fatigue years before the rest, which is why the dip forms in the middle.
How firm is the Manchot mattress?
Both the Essential and Signature sit in the medium-firm range. Firmness in our design is structural, not just surface feel — the comfort layer stays balanced while the support core underneath holds consistent over time. Firmness and support are tuned separately.
