Materials
Where are Manchot products made?
Manchot products are assembled using globally sourced materials under controlled manufacturing standards, at facilities selected for their ability to produce zone-specific reinforced coil systems — a process that requires a different production line than uniform-construction mattresses.
Does the mattress sleep hot?
Hybrid construction allows more airflow than solid foam. The pocketed coil core lets air circulate through the mattress, and the breathable performance padding above it helps regulate temperature, reducing heat buildup during sleep.
What kind of steel is used in the coils?
Heavier-gauge tempered steel in the reinforced center third, and standard tempered steel in the surrounding zones. Tempering improves fatigue resistance — the steel returns to its original shape after compression for longer, which is what determines how long support actually lasts.
Are the foams CertiPUR-US certified?
Yes. All foams in Manchot mattresses and the Cradle™ pillow are CertiPUR-US certified, meaning they are made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, formaldehyde, and other regulated substances. Certification is independently verified.
What is inside a Manchot mattress?
Layered comfort foam on top, breathable performance padding beneath it, and a reinforced pocketed coil support core at the base. The center third of the coil system uses heavier-gauge tempered steel — the StasisLayer™ System reinforcement — where the load concentrates.
Warranty
How do I file a warranty claim?
Contact our support team with your order number and a few photos showing the issue. Most claims are reviewed within 5 business days. If approved, the affected item is repaired or replaced at no cost.
What does the pillow warranty cover?
Structural collapse of the main support chamber, seam failure, and cover defects under normal use. Surface softening from years of normal use is not considered a structural defect.
What does the mattress warranty cover?
Visible body impressions deeper than 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) when the surface is unloaded, structural failure of the coil unit, and seam or material defects under normal use. It does not cover gradual comfort preference changes or damage from improper support foundations.
How long is the warranty?
Mattresses carry a 10-year limited warranty. The Cradle™ Adjustable Pillow carries a 3-year limited warranty. Both cover manufacturing and structural defects under normal use.
Shipping & Trial
What happens to returned products?
Used or opened mattresses are donated to local charities or recycled — never resold as new. In rare cases, mattresses returned with original packaging and inner seal fully intact may be inspected and, if confirmed unused, returned to inventory.
Why should I wait before judging a new mattress?
Two reasons. If your old mattress sagged, your body adapted to that shape, and returning to neutral alignment can feel unfamiliar for the first couple of weeks. New materials also settle over the first weeks, changing how the surface feels. Most people adjust within 21 nights.
What is the 100-night trial?
You have 100 nights to decide whether the product is right for you. We recommend at least 30 nights before judging — your body needs time to adjust to a different support structure, and new materials need time to settle. If you decide to return within the window, we arrange free return pickup and issue a full refund.
How long does delivery take?
Pillows typically ship within 1–2 business days and arrive in 3–6 business days. Mattresses ship within 2–4 business days and arrive in 5–10 business days, depending on region. Tracking is provided once the order is processed.
How is the mattress shipped?
The mattress is compressed, rolled, and shipped in a box for easier delivery and setup. Once unboxed, it expands to full shape. Allow it time to fully expand before judging the feel.
Is shipping free?
Yes. Free shipping to the contiguous United States. Alaska, Hawaii, and international shipping are not currently available.
Pillow
Why do adjustable pillows lose support over time?
Most adjustable pillows are filled with loose shredded foam, and loose fill drifts. Under nightly head pressure the pieces migrate toward the edges, so the center loses density while the edges stay full — the support moves out from under your neck even though the pillow looks the same. That's why a height that felt right at first slowly goes flat.
Cradle is built the other way. As a Fill-Free Adjustable Pillow™, it adjusts without loose fill — a fixed support core plus a removable booster, the Dual-Chamber™ design — so there's no fill to drift. The height you set stays centered where you put it. Set Once. Stays Set.
No pillow stays new forever, but with nothing loose to migrate, the support holds its place far longer than shredded fill.
Is the Cradle™ cover washable?
Yes. The outer cover unzips and is machine washable. Wash cold and tumble dry low.
Does the Cradle™ pillow sleep hot?
The quilted surface and breathable cover allow airflow through the pillow, which reduces heat buildup compared with solid foam pillows that trap it. The cover is also removable for washing.
Who is the Cradle™ pillow designed for?
Side, back, and combination sleepers. The two-height system lets you match loft to your sleeping position — higher for side sleeping, lower for back and stomach. Combination sleepers can set it to the height that suits their dominant position.
Do I need to fluff the Cradle™ pillow?
No. Fluffing is how loose-fill pillows redistribute fill that has shifted during sleep. Because Cradle™ uses a solid support chamber instead of loose fill, the support stays centered without daily reshaping.
Will the Cradle™ pillow flatten over time?
The main chamber is solid memory foam, not shredded fill, so it returns to its set shape rather than compressing into a flat mat. Some surface softening is normal over years of use, but the structural collapse that flattens shredded-fill pillows is not how Cradle™ wears.
Is the Cradle™ pillow height adjustable?
Yes. The pillow has two heights. Use it with the booster layer inside for the taller setting, better for side sleepers and larger frames. Remove the booster for the lower setting, better for back and stomach sleepers. Because the support chamber stays intact, height changes without altering the support structure.
What makes the Cradle™ pillow different from shredded-fill pillows?
Most adjustable pillows use shredded foam fill that shifts under head pressure, moving support away from the center over time. The Cradle™ Adjustable Pillow uses a solid support chamber that holds its position, paired with a removable booster for height. Set once, it stays set — no daily fluffing to restore the support zone.
Mattress Fit & Support
Does a higher coil count mean better support?
Not by itself. Coil count can be one part of mattress construction, but it does not tell you how the mattress is actually built, how the coils are arranged, or whether the center support is reinforced. Support depends on the full structure: coil design, foam layers, zoning, edge support, and how the load-bearing center handles repeated compression over time.
Does a longer warranty mean a mattress will not sag?
Not necessarily. A warranty explains what may be covered after a problem appears; it does not guarantee how the mattress will feel every night over time. Many warranties focus on visible indentation depth, while support loss can be felt before a mattress looks deeply sagged. Long-term comfort depends more on structure, materials, and how the load-bearing center is built.
Is firmness the same as support?
No. Firmness is how a mattress feels on the surface. Support is whether the structure underneath keeps your hips and lower back from sinking out of alignment over time. A mattress can feel firm at first and still lose support in the middle later. Manchot is designed to feel comfortable on top while staying more stable underneath.
Can a topper fix a sagging mattress?
A topper can change the surface feel of a mattress that is still structurally sound. It can make a bed feel softer, more breathable, or more cushioned. But a topper cannot rebuild support that has already failed underneath. If the middle of the mattress has lost support, the issue is usually in the support system, not the surface layer.
Is the Manchot mattress good for back sleepers, side sleepers, or combination sleepers?
Manchot is designed for sleepers who want a balanced medium-firm feel with stronger center support. Back sleepers may appreciate the stable feel under the hips and lower back. Side sleepers may appreciate the cushioned surface, although very lightweight side sleepers who prefer an extra-plush feel should consider their pressure-relief preference carefully. Combination sleepers benefit from a surface that feels comfortable without feeling overly soft or stuck.
Can a mattress feel comfortable at first and lose support later?
Yes. Initial comfort and long-term support consistency are different qualities. A mattress may feel comfortable when new, then change unevenly in the areas that receive the most repeated compression. The first sign may be a softer sleeping area or deeper hip sink before visible sag appears.
Can a bed frame, slats, or plywood fix mattress sagging?
A weak foundation can make a good mattress feel worse, especially if slats are too flexible, too far apart, or not supported in the center. Plywood may make the base feel flatter, but it will not repair foam, coils, or support layers that have already lost structure. It may also reduce airflow depending on the setup. If a mattress is sagging internally, the base alone cannot truly fix it.
Can a mattress lose support before there is visible sag?
Yes. A mattress can feel less supportive before it shows a deep visible indentation. Your body may notice the hips dropping, the surface feeling uneven, or the lower back losing support before the sag is obvious to the eye. That is why visible indentation alone does not always tell the whole story.
What is the difference between Essential and Signature?
Both Essential and Signature are built around Manchot’s center-support philosophy. Essential is the simpler, more accessible model for everyday comfort and stable support. Signature adds upgraded comfort and finishing details for a more refined feel while keeping the same focus on support through the middle.
What is StasisLayer™ System?
The StasisLayer™ System is Manchot’s reinforced center support design. It is built around the area where body weight concentrates most during sleep, helping the mattress stay more stable through the middle instead of softening there first. It is the structural reason behind our No Sink in the Middle approach.
Do all mattresses sag eventually?
All mattresses change over time as foams soften, coils settle, and materials respond to repeated use. The real question is not whether a mattress changes at all, but where it changes first and how quickly that change affects support. Manchot focuses on reducing early center support loss, especially in the area where body weight concentrates most during sleep.
Why do couples sometimes roll toward the middle?
This can happen when the shared center or one sleeping area compresses more than the surrounding surface, creating a slight slope. Differences in body weight, mattress structure, and foundation support may all contribute. If the effect remains on a flat, fully supported base, the mattress is more likely to be involved.
Why do mattresses dip where you sleep or sag in the middle first?
Most body weight concentrates around the hips and center third of the mattress. Over time, repeated compression can make the areas you sleep on soften faster than the areas you do not use as much. That is why some mattresses develop a dip where you sleep, or a raised-feeling “hump” where surrounding areas have compressed more. Manchot is designed to reduce center-first support loss.
Why do reviews describe the same mattress as both too firm and too soft?
Firmness is subjective and depends on body weight, sleeping position, comfort-layer compression, foundation, and the sleeper’s previous mattress. Different sizes or thickness options may also feel different. That is why two honest reviewers can experience the same firmness label very differently.
How firm is the Manchot mattress?
Both the Essential and Signature sit in the medium-firm range. Firmness in our design is structural, not just surface feel — the comfort layer stays balanced while the support core underneath holds consistent over time. Firmness and support are tuned separately.
